Yummy Caramel Apples

One of the easiest fall treats to make is something that everyone loves...Caramel Apples! This recipe only calls for 3 ingredients and some wooden skewers!
Easy on the wallet and the grocery list.

Here is what you need:

6 apples (chilled, cold apples work best)
2 tablespoons milk
1 (14 oz) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
Wooden Skewers

Directions:

  1. Remove the stem from each apple and press a craft stick into the top. Butter a baking sheet.
  2. Place caramels and milk in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave 2 minutes, stirring once. Allow to cool briefly.
  3. Roll each apple quickly in caramel sauce until well coated. The trick to fully coat the apples in caramel is to turn them and roll them in the caramel.
  4.  At this point if you would like to add decorations do so while the caramel is warm. Sprinkle your carameled apple with chocolate chips, nuts, coconut, m&m's, sprinkles, jimmies, red hots or whatever your heart desires!
  5. Place on cookie sheet to cool! To speed up the process, put them in the refrigerator for several hours!
  6. ENJOY!
