One of the easiest fall treats to make is something that everyone loves...Caramel Apples! This recipe only calls for 3 ingredients and some wooden skewers!
Easy on the wallet and the grocery list.
Here is what you need:
6 apples (chilled, cold apples work best)
2 tablespoons milk
1 (14 oz) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
Wooden Skewers
Directions:
- Remove the stem from each apple and press a craft stick into the top. Butter a baking sheet.
- Place caramels and milk in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave 2 minutes, stirring once. Allow to cool briefly.
- Roll each apple quickly in caramel sauce until well coated. The trick to fully coat the apples in caramel is to turn them and roll them in the caramel.
- At this point if you would like to add decorations do so while the caramel is warm. Sprinkle your carameled apple with chocolate chips, nuts, coconut, m&m's, sprinkles, jimmies, red hots or whatever your heart desires!
- Place on cookie sheet to cool! To speed up the process, put them in the refrigerator for several hours!
- ENJOY!
