Recycled Cupcake/Plant Picks

My kids go through "fruit snacks" like water and this fun craft uses boxes you're sure to have around the house!

What you need:
Boxes with fun characters (fruit snacks, Gushers, Mac&Cheese, boxes toys came in, etc)
Clear packing tape
Scissors
Toothpicks or Small Skewers

First, cut out the character you want to use. I am using some Minions from the back of a Gusher's fruit snack package. Cute huh?

So cut them all out and tidy up the edges.

Next you'll need to lay out a piece of clear packing tape (sticky side up) and make the piece long enough to fold over to cover your recycled picture.

Place your cardboard cut out face down on the tape. Add skewer or toothpick to the back and then fold over the remaining tape. Press down firmly and make sure tape adheres. At this point you should have a piece of cardboard that is fully covered with tape on both sides.

Once that's complete, cut them out from the tape so you have individual picks. These are so much fun to make and require things you probably already have around the house.

You could use these as plant stakes, cupcake toppers, package decorations or add fruit to the bottom of the skewer for a fun afternoon snack!

This craft would be great for wording too. Just print out what you need to say on regular copy paper like "Get Well" or "Happy Birthday." Then use the steps above and add to a potted plant for a gift!

Show us how crafty you can be using this method to
create your own cupcake toppers, plant picks, or package decorations!
